Valuation Associate Director


The role

The valuation business is a key strength of the London office, conducting a mix of appraisal and valuation work for investment and banking clients in addition to consultancy advice for both public and private sector clients. In addition the team provides an LPA Receiver service primarily for the major banks. There is regular contact with other UK offices as the team operates as part of a national remit.


Roles and responsibilities


Clients and Business Development

  • Carry out valuations and appraisals for a range of purposes, including secured lending, consultancy and financial reporting
  • Able to work on a broad range of assignments referring only to senior colleagues/specialists on highly unusual or technical issues
  • Manages mid-sized assignments or sections of major projects
  • Broad knowledge of principles and practices of related disciplines
  • Evaluates, selects and adapts standard and techniques and procedures
  • Manages existing client relationships and contributes to securing new business
  • Identifies and helps progress new business opportunities both in and outside own discipline
  • Has broad range of contacts within the banking industry  





  • MRICS qualified, preferably with experience in Valuation, property management and agency disciplines 




  • Valuation experience gained within a commercial organisation
  • Appreciation of macro and micro economic influences on the property market from both a development and investment view point
  • Ability to interpret leases and head leases, and analyse the impact of terms on value
  • Local market awareness of all sectors
  • Ability to demonstrate and develop expertise in a nominated sector
  • Valuation and appraisal experience
  • Computer literate, fully conversant with the use of spreadsheets
  • Able to work to strict deadlines
  • Working knowledge of Argus capitalisation and developer software


  • Experience of valuations for other purposes.
  • Understands issues relating to senior debt and equity lending decisions

Key deliverables

  • Deliver valuation reports on time. Compliant and accurate
  • Portfolio valuations completed to the satisfaction of lead director/business line
  • Excellent knowledge and utilisation of valuation software
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients
  • Participate in business development initiatives with business line targets
  • Ability to contribute to the development of junior staff
