Commercial PR Officer


The role

  • Work in conjunction with Head of Corporate PR and Communications to raise the company’s profile corporately and commercially.
  • Help to develop and implement thought leadership campaigns, working with the research team and members of the business.
  • Lead on raising profile for the commercial business, managing features, speaking opportunities and interviews.
  • Work closely with the Head of Brand & Events to support with content for campaigns and high level events and sponsorships. 

Key deliverables

  • Support the Head of Corporate PR and Communications on corporate PR profile
  • Day-to-day responsibility for reactive commercial PR
  • Take the lead on features for commercial PR
  • Responsible for several business lines within commercial PR
  • Proactively source speaking opportunities for key spokespeople at industry events
  • Work with the Head of Brand and Events to make the most of our industry sponsorships and events by organising content, opinion pieces and editorial
  • Delivering thought leadership campaigns, in terms of content and project management, joining together a support team
  • Work with BNP Paribas Group’s UK PR team to collaborate on UK PR initiatives and press briefings, and ensure the flow of information regarding press actions, corporate announcements and matters relating to the perception of the Group in the UK.
  • Work with BNPPRE’s central PR team in Paris, reporting on press actions and coverage, and BNPPRE’s international PR network to share PR content between countries. 



  • Shared responsibility for press cuttings agency, database and journalist entertainment. 

Clients and Business Development

  • Contribute to the growth of the business by raising profile of senior experts in commercial and positioning them as experts in their market through press, events and speaking opportunities.
  • Contribute to the growth of the business by supporting and running campaigns on specific topics, to support BD & Marketing team in their client and target client segmentation. 


  • Develop excellent relationships with senior fee earners and the business line heads
  • Actively communicate and support the vision of the Company internally
  • Be an ambassador of the newco across the business, demonstrating the added value of comms, communicating successes and gathering feedback and content
  • Present dashboard of success monthly for inclusion into quarterly board packs
  • Delegate and empower others effectively to provide challenge and learning
  • Regularly review own objectives and update them accordingly


Systems and Process

  • Suggest ways to improve processes in order to improve quality and profitability
  • Be innovative and creative with developing new systems and processes in line with marketing tools. 

Person specification

Essential qualifications

  • Educated to degree level.
  • Postgraduate marketing degree and/or CIM qualification desirable.

Essential experience

  • Demonstrable record of delivery in professional services (ideally real estate) with a strong PR and campaign background.
  • Previous experience and a strong understanding of industry events, press and sponsorships.
  • Experience of managing projects and having a commercial mind-set essential
  • Strong understanding of the real estate market and sectors within or ability to learn extremely quickly is essential.
