Citylights : new life for the Tours du Pont de Sèvres
Citylights or how BNP Paribas Real Estate infuses new life in the Tours du Pont de Sèvres in Boulogne Billancourt, west of Paris
Previously known as the Tours du Pont de Sèvres, they will now go by the name of Citylights.
Corporate real estate Property Development teams at BNP Paribas Real Estate and GE Capital Real Estate have teamed up to infuse new life in this High-Rise Complex comprising three buildings with a overall surface area of over 80,000 sq. m of office space, as part of an extensive restructuring and extension project. “The project is truly a challenge: to transform this property built in the 1970s into a flagship product for the 21st century. The operation has now been taken up and pre-sold. Half of the surface area has been pre-leased to the GE group and the other half pre-sold to BNP Paribas Cardif”, says Philippe Zivkovic, president of BNP Paribas Real Estate.
“We opted for this name because “Citylights” will be a landmark, a beacon of light that can be seen from afar at the entrance to Boulogne-Billancourt. The carefully designed façades will boast structured and particularly advanced lighting. The “bracelets” (angled façade components installed on one-third of the towers’ vertical surfaces) will reflect daylight using mirrors. At night, Citylights will sparkle. However, the main characteristic of Citylights is clearly its visibility. Citylights will be an exceptional complex!”, says Barbara Koreniouguine, president of the corporate real estate promotion business line and head of the residential business division at BNP Paribas Real Estate.
Citylights boasts in fact an outstanding location with excellent visibility at the entrance to Boulogne-Billancourt, west of Paris with easy access by car and public transport. Citylights is also located in the heart of a thriving and renovated district that benefits from the redevelopment of the former Renault factory area in Trapèze and île Seguin.
Citylights design bears the signature of architect Dominique Perrault and is also an extraordinarily modern project with highly glazed and original façades that will resemble sparkling diamonds. Divisions of 1,300 to 2,000 sq. m are functional, flexible and modular.
In addition to its aesthetics, Citylights will also boast very high environmental performance and aims the “Exceptional” HQE (Haute Qualité Environnementale) and “Very Good” BREEAM certifications, as well as the BBC (Low Consumption Building) label.
Citylights can also be considered a “vertical campus”. Users will find a pleasant working environment and more generally a particularly enjoyable living environment. Offices will be comfortable and very luminous. A wide range of services will make day-to-day life easier, such as four company restaurants catering to up to 3,000 places per day, a conference centre featuring a 300-seat auditorium and modular meeting rooms, a concierge service and its spa area, a fitness centre, and a crèche for 30. Spreading over 10,000 sq. m, these services will be accessed via the main entrance hall shared by all three buildings. As a concourse, a place for discussion and a friendly setting, this 1,500 sq. m “agora” reaching up two and three levels will form the heart of Citylights.
Construction will begin in October with delivery scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2014.
A model and 3-D film will be presented at the MIPIM at the BNP Paribas Real Estate stand (R31/35).
BNP Paribas Real Estate will be holding a cocktail party to present the Citylights project on Thursday, 8 March at 11.30 am, stand (R31/35). Philippe Zivkovic, President of BNP Paribas Real Estate, Pierre-Christophe Baguet, National Deputy and Mayor of Boulogne-Billancourt, Xavier Barrondo, President of GE Capital Real Estate and architect Dominique Perrault will be attending.
